Premature Ejaculation

Premature Ejaculation The most common form of male sexual dysfunction in men under 40 years of age, premature ejaculation occurs in 1 in 3 sexually active men. Typically caused by a combination of an oversensitive glans penis and nervousness or performance anxiety, premature ejaculation has several biological causes, including hormonal imbalances, thyroid issues, neurotransmitter abnormalities, abnormal reflex activity of the ejaculatory system, inflammation and infection of the prostate or urethra and genetic abnormalities.

Common symptoms of premature ejaculation include the inability of a man to control his ejaculation, ejaculating before he is ready or has satisfied his partner and ejaculating before penetration, upon penetration or shortly therafter. Premature ejaculation can occur at the same time as erectile dysfunction, but in these cases, treatment tends to focus on erectile dysfunction as the primary problem.
