If you caught Gwen Stefani’s recent Christmas special, you probably noticed she looks terrific – and younger than she did a few years ago. Since people don’t age in reverse – other than Benjamin Button- social media lit up with Stefani plastic surgery rumors. Stefani has never commented on such rumors, so speculation runs wild.
Stefani is now 48, but she looked about 35 or younger on the You Make It Feel Like Christmas special. She’s a mother of three. She’s been in the public eye for almost 30 years, but her appearance doesn’t give the longevity of her career away.
Fans and medical professionals – who have not treated Stefani – agree on one thing. It’s virtually certain that Stefani has undergone Botox treatments, laser, dermal fillers, facial peels and other non-invasive procedures to maintain her youthful appearance. Her lips are certainly plumper than they were in her youth. Has she crossed the line and actually gone under the knife? One esthetician noted that Stefani’s face and neck look like she may have undergone ultratherapy, but that’s a non-surgical procedure.
The under-the-knife speculation centers on her breasts – which are certainly larger than when she began her career – along with her nose and an eyelid lift. Breast implants are almost a certainty, as her boobs are much larger than they once were. Stefani boasted of breastfeeding her children, which can cause sagging but doesn’t change breast size in the long run. Her current boobs look firm and upright. She did not, however, go overboard with breast augmentation. Her bust fits her frame and doesn’t seem out of proportion, a mistake made by famous and ordinary women seeking breast enhancement. Rhinoplasty is likely, as photos from the early 2000s show a more bulbous, round nose than the one Stefani now sports. The eyelid lift is more speculative, but it’s a definite maybe.
For all those fans who laud Stefani’s youthful appearance and truly stunning skin, there are those who feel she no longer looks natural and seems “plastic.” That’s all a matter of opinion. Certainly, she doesn’t look any more plastic than most female celebrities pushing 50, and her complexion has a lovely glow. The fact is, plastic surgery or no, Stefani is one of those women who look better as they approach the half-century mark than they did when they were 25. Perhaps it’s plastic surgery and minimally invasive techniques, but it’s also due to confidence and a strong sense of self.
