Thread Lifts or Feather Lifts have actually been around for quite a while, but have been gaining more and more popularity recently as an easy facelift alternative.  Because of how quickly Contour Thread Lifts are performed and the little down time that is involved, many people refer to it as the “lunch hour facelift.”  Using a hollow needle, a surgeon inserts a “feather-like” thread under the skin, starting near the cheekbone.  Since a needle is used, the Thread Lift incisions are minimal and shouldn’t leave any trace of scarring.  When attached, the surgeon can gently tug on the thread to adjust and tighten skin around the eyes, neck, lip, or brow.  New collagen forms around each thread to maintain the lifted effect.  Four threads are the minimum number needed to lift even the most moderately sagging skin.  Results of Thread Lifts are generally compared to those of mini facelifts. 

A thread face lift has many advantages over traditional facelifts besides being able to have it done on a lunch break.  Contour Thread Lifts are cheaper and safer than more invasive facelifts.  Thread Lifts require only a couple of days of recovery and the results are immediate.  Because the procedure is only minimally invasive, there is no need for anesthesia.  This means you can actually use a mirror and direct the plastic surgeon where to pull your skin.

What is the recovery time for Thread Lift?
Day 1-21 After your Thread Lift surgery, you must keep your face immobile for several days as to not dislodge your threads.  This means no loud laughing, keeping speech to a minimum, don’t rub your face, don’t sleep on your back, and try to avoid opening your mouth too widely.  This movement restriction can last for three weeks.

Day 3 Most patients return to work.  With surgical makeup, some even return to work the day of surgery, making it a true lunch hour facelift.
