A synthetic polymer of polylactic acid (PLA), which is injected into the deep layers of skin, where it induces formation of collagen in the treated areas. The New-fill product is completely resorbed (digested) within several weeks, however, the new collagen which has formed is long lasting. This is very different from standard injectable collagen, which is derived from cow tissue and which your body digests completely in 4-6 months. The new collagen formed by New-Fill has been shown to be present after 5 years of initial treatment.
