Smooth Tuck Combines Elements of Liposuction, Tummy Tuck

Smooth Tuck Combines Elements of Liposuction, Tummy Tuck

The stomach is often considered one of the sexiest parts of the body. A woman's slim waist gives way to feminine curves, while men seek chiseled abs. Unfortunately, the abdomen area is also one of the most difficult body parts to tighten and tone. Traditional liposuction and tummy tucks are both effective procedures that decrease fat content for a slimmer, more beautiful stomach. But after liposuction, some people-- especially those that have a lot of fat removed-- are left with extra sagging skin. This is a particularly common problem in the abdomen area, where a lot of fat tends to collect. A new procedure called Smooth Tuck™ combines liposuction of the abdomen with the removal of loose and hanging skin. Smooth Tuck provides a solution to people that want to get rid of their fat as well as their excess skin without undergoing to separate procedures.

What Is Smooth Tuck?

Smooth Tuck is a new surgery that combines aggressive liposuction with excess skin removal. Patients are placed under general anesthesia so that they aren't conscious during the length of the procedure. Then, the abdomen is liposuctioned to remove fat. Excess fat in this area can cause a rounded appearance, cellulite, and overhang around the hip area (also known as “love handles”). The skin remains stretched out after the liposuction from accommodating the fat. Or. existing fat from before the liposuction can also be present due to significant weight loss. This extra skin, or flap, is usually most prevalent on the lower abdomen. A Smooth Tuck takes around two hours to complete.

Smooth Tuck vs. Tummy Tuck

Smooth Tuck offers many advantages over a traditional tummy tuck. The biggest difference between Smooth Tuck and a tummy tuck is that Smooth Tuck doesn't involve any internal muscle tightening. When the muscles are tightened in a tummy tuck, they require a lot of healing time-- up to eight weeks before physical activity can be resumed. Smooth Tuck will have you back on your feet in a week and at the gym in two weeks. Smooth Tuck also repositions the belly button from the inside, so there's no risk of scarring. Plus, only some tummy tucks include liposuction and even then only about half a liter can be removed due to abdominal muscle sensitivity. Smooth Tuck removes two to three liters of fat.

Ideal Candidates for Smooth Tuck

Smooth Tuck can be performed on anyone looking to flatten and tighten their abdomen. It can be a particularly effective procedure on patients that have a moderate to severe amount of fat. Remember, Smooth Tuck can remove between two and three liters of fat. Smooth Tuck is ideal for people that aren't good candidates for a tummy tuck or are looking for a faster recovery.
