If you don’t have time to go to the gym or otherwise work out, no worries. The newest plastic surgery trends can give you that sleek, buff physique without the need for actual exercise. Men, especially, are drawn to these procedures. If you have several thousand dollars to spare, you too can have perfect pectorals and biceps to die for. You’ll have the gain, but the only pain is recovering from the surgery.
The best candidates for muscle implants and similar surgeries are those who exercise regularly and watch their diet, but simply aren’t achieving their fitness goals in terms of appearance. Other good candidates are individuals who have experience muscle tears resulting in an imbalanced look. Men with gynecomastia, or enlarged breasts, can benefit from such surgery, as their female-looking breasts are reduced and replaced with ripping implants.
Sedentary, couch potato types may want such surgery, but they aren’t the best candidates. Doctors advise patients to work towards physical fitness before deciding to go under the knife. Once they become those people who exercise but aren’t reaching their fitness goals, then they can come back and discuss plastic surgeries.
The recovery period for these operations require at least one or two weeks off work, and you must wait at least three weeks before resuming any type of strenuous exercise. As with any surgery, there is always the risk of complications, including scarring, bleeding and fluid pooling around the implant, known as seroma. It’s also possible that the implanted muscles will appear asymmetrical, which may require a corrective surgery. While no one can guarantee a patient won’t experience complications, it is critical to find a plastic surgeon well-versed in this type of surgery. You don’t want to become a training ground for a plastic surgeon who only performs this operation once in a while.
Keep in mind that just because you now have a bodybuilder’s physique, you don’t have a bodybuilder’s strength. This plastic surgery is cosmetic, after all. No matter how much the muscles now ripple from implants, a person’s real muscle strength hasn’t changed. In fact, the recovery may take some of the individual’s former strength away. There’s no reason, though, that once a person get the doctor’s approval, they can’t start improving their physique the old-fashioned way, through the proper exercise regimen.
