Even before she married one of the most eligible bachelors in the world, Meghan Markle was a frequent topic of conversation around plastic surgery offices. As an actress and one of the stars of "Suits," Markle had been in the public eye for years, and even though she wasn't a household name, her beauty was undeniable. As a result, plastic surgery patients would periodically use photographs of her as a point of reference for their desired look. Since her marriage to Prince Harry, however, requests for Markle-like features have skyrocketed, and plastic surgeons the world over have been swarmed with patients looking to replicate some aspect of the Duchess of Sussex's appearance.
Certain celebrities have their telltale features. Kylie Jenner has her lips. Beyonce has her backside. When it comes to Meghan Markle, however, there are numerous features that people want to emulate, from her nose and her lips, to her cheeks and even her skin tone, and plastic surgeons have devised a number of different methods to achieve these looks for their patients.
First though, it's worth looking at why Markle has become such a popular cosmetic surgery touchstone. For starters, there's no denying that her fairy tale story plays at least some role here. As far as the British royal family is concerned, you would be hard-pressed to find more of an outsider than a mixed-race American divorcee, making Markle a true source of inspiration for women everywhere. Also, the fact that Markle is mixed-race means that her beauty doesn't fall within a narrowly defined scope, allowing women across the world to see aspects of themselves in her appearance and giving them something tangible to which they can aspire.
So how do plastic surgeons replicate that Meghan Markle look? To mimic her jawline and cheekbones, many physicians use dermal fillers, such as Voluma XC, to add plumpness and definition to those areas. Similarly, doctors are also using fillers to replicate Markle's naturally full lips. But how do they match the flawless texture of her skin? For that, surgeons use various facial techniques, such as the ULTRAcel or the micro-infused facial, which gently lift the skin, giving a more youthful, radiant appearance.
Even though the royal wedding has come and gone, there is no sign that public fascination with Meghan Markle will subside anytime soon. In fact, now that the duchess is pregnant, interest in her might be on the rise once again. Either way, plastic surgeons will need to keep finding ways to replicate her enviable features as more and more women will be craving some aspect of that Meghan Markle look.
