Has Lady Gaga gotten plastic surgery… again!? A recent selfie make-up free image was posted on the singer’s official Instagram causing an absolute fury of social media comments. A majority of these comments seemed to reflect on the performer’s changing looks. But is her “poker face” natural or has the singer gotten plastic surgery?
According to reports, Lady Gaga’s face does look different and her nose is smoother but the final analysis is still divided. Did she get a rhinoplasty procedure? One needs to remember the worldwide mega super-star is a mere 28 years old.
Nevertheless, the general public has spoken and web search results show pages of claims and photos indicating that Lady Gaga has gone under the knife with cosmetic surgery.
Yet what does her Gaga-ness in response to the deluge of rumors that she has obtained various plastic and cosmetic treatments and surgeries? In a 2011 exclusive report with Harper’s Bazaar, the singer made her formal stance know to the rest of the world:
“I have never had plastic surgery, and there are many pop singers who have. I think that promoting insecurity in the form of plastic surgery is infinitely more harmful than an artistic expression related to body modification … And how many models and actresses do you see on magazine covers who have brand-new faces and have had plastic surgery, while I myself have never had any plastic surgery? … I am an artist, and I have the ability and the free will to choose the way the world will envision me.”
One must bear in mind that this particular coverage occurred nearly a half a decade ago. Time (and faces) will tell the wiser.
As technology in the field improves, plastic surgery is steadily becoming safer and increasingly cost-efficient. As more celebrities and models reveal their plastic surgeries and treatments, the stigma that once tabooed plastic surgery will slowly give way to support and acceptance. Plastic surgery is not for everyone, and nobody should feel they have to receive treatments. We are not all Lady Gaga. However, plastic surgery should also remain available for everybody without a person feeling embarrassed or ashamed about receiving consultation and treatment. The choice is up to you.
