The procedure is called a feather lift because of the shape of the sutures, which anchor into the soft tissue of the skin and lift it. The Aptos threads can be pulled in any direction, and can also be reversed.

Unlike traditional surgery, there are no scars, the level of discomfort is significantly diminished, the procedure is low-risk, and recovery times are quite quick. The procedure is performed with local anesthetic in your doctor’s office, and typically takes only 30-60 minutes to complete. The feather lift has not typically been successful for patients with considerable excess skin, since the feather lift does not actually remove any skin.
