Meet Cindy Jackson, Record Holder for Most Plastic Surgery Procedures
by Marisa Amorasak
An American woman has officially set the world record for the most plastic surgery procedures ever undergone by one person. Cindy Jackson has had 52 total surgeries on her face and body that she claimed have transformed her from a plain-looking girl from the Midwest to a bona fide bombshell.
Jackson, 55, grew up in rural Ohio. She attributed the desire to drastically change her appearance to a strict father and low self-esteem. She recalled an experience during her childhood that left her thinking profoundly about changing her look.
"One guy said when I was 14, 'You know Cindy, when you smile, from the side your nose and chin almost meet,’” she told ABC News. “It was like being in the wrong body and wrong face and I felt that very much and wanted to change it."
Jackson’s incentive seems sensible enough. Many people choose plastic surgery to quell their insecurities about certain features. Jackson’s personal interest in aesthetics was piqued when she moved from Ohio to London in the late 1970s to pursue work as a photographer and performer. After her father died in 1988, Jackson used her inheritance money to start funding her total body makeover. Over the past three decades, Jackson’s 52 surgeries have included 14 full-body operations, five facelifts, two eyelid surgeries, routine Botox, liposuction to the stomach and knees, and many other types of plastic surgery procedures. Jackson claims she’s spent about $100,000 on her numerous plastic surgeries.
Jackson said she is finally satisfied with her appearance. “I feel this is me," she said. "This is the way I should look."
Jackson has been the record holder for plastic surgery since 2000, surpassing even Jocelyn Wildenstein, also known as “The Cat Lady.” Wildenstein is a British socialite who reportedly spent millions of dollars on plastic surgery after finding her husband lusting after younger women. Her feline resemblance is often the poster-child for plastic surgery nightmares.
Jackson’s surgeries are undoubtedly more refined and subtle than Wildenstein’s, however. Her new look is more attractive than her old one, and she certainly looks younger than her 55 years. She also lacks any obvious signs of plastic surgery. "For me, the best result is one that looks natural," Jackson said. "I wouldn't ever want anyone to stop and stare at me and say 'that woman's had a lot of surgery.' I would never want to look like I'd had anything done."
After so much time spent under the knife, Jackson has become somewhat of a plastic surgery guru. In addition publishing two books, “Living Doll” and “Image and Cosmetic Secrets,” Jackson now runs a plastic surgery consulting business that charges $540 for an hour of her advice.
What’s Jackson’s latest procedure? “I'd had everything done to look younger, to look better, and my hands were letting me down," she said. To quell her worries, she visited a surgeon who used an injectable like Sculptra that stimulates collagen production, resulting in younger-looking hands.
As for her critics, Jackson offered some rational on her radical transformation. "We don't have to look like our parents," she said. "It's evolution. It's medical progress."
At 52 operations, Cindy Jackson is certainly on the extreme end of people who’ve chose plastic surgery. Nonetheless, she’s benefited from the results of her surgeries. She claims to be happier and feel more like herself. It certainly doesn’t hurt that Jackson has obviously been under the care of some talented surgeons. If you’re looking to improve your self-esteem or to reverse the aging process, we can schedule a free consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon in your area.
