Cosmetic enhancement is currently enjoying an unprecedented level of success. Over the last few years, the number of procedures performed and the overall amount of money people spent on invasive and noninvasive procedures has increased annually. While this popularity is a global phenomenon, cosmetic enhancement is particularly prevalent in China, where the culture has notoriously high standards of beauty. Thanks to the plastic surgery boom in China, two of the country’s domestic leaders in cosmetic manufacturing are seeing their stock prices riding high, and investors around the world have started to take notice.
Far and away, the most popular cosmetic procedures are of the noninvasive variety. Not only are these procedures easier on both the body and the wallet, but they are also convenient for patients, as simple injections can often be performed in a matter of minutes with very limited side effects.
Although Botox reigns supreme in the world of noninvasive procedures, hyaluronic acid injections come in second, with millions of these procedures performed every year. In addition to reducing wrinkles and minimizing the signs of aging, these dermal filler injections also enhance the contours of the face while adding hydration and firmness to the skin. Additionally, patients who undergo these procedures report minimal side effects, and hyaluronic acid injections are widely regarded as safe and simple.
Currently, two Chinese manufacturers are riding the wave of hyaluronic acid’s popularity. Both companies, Shanghai Haohai and Bloomage, recently began manufacturing hyaluronic acid products to be used in the cosmetics industry. While sales from these products are already paying dividends for the two companies, their financial outlook for the future looks even brighter.
Over the next few years, experts predict that sales of hyaluronic acid dermal fillers produced by Shanghai Haohai and Bloomage to increase over 10%. And why wouldn’t they? Unlike cosmetic surgeries, which are finite, one-time expenses, patients need to regular injections of hyaluronic acid in order to maintain the results, and that means a steady stream of profit. Additionally, as more people discover the benefits of dermal fillers, their usage is going to increase exponentially.
In the short-term, these two companies are enjoying a high level of success, which is reflected in their rising stocks. While the future may bring new entrants into the hyaluronic acid field, for now, these companies have a head start on providing much-needed products to a highly lucrative industry.
